Fashion Show for Alzheimer's Dementia

The Collection Part 2 "Butterflies" Fashion Show will be taking place Saturday, June 2, 2012. This is the 12th Annual S.I.O.P fashion show experience and it will be held at The Rosen Plaza, 9700 International Drive in Orlando. Doors open at 6:30PM and show starts at 7PM. Portion of the Proceeds goes to Alzheimer's Dementia Resource Group.

Bikini Time!

Summer is here in full throttle. This means every day is a beach day! Especially since Orlando only gets hit with rain clouds late at night nowadays. Even at the beach, some fashion must be considered. But first, are you bikini ready?

For some amazing and simple home workouts check out the videos on Tone It Up! 15 minutes a day-- that's all it takes. If you have more time, go for a light jog, bike ride or brisk walk with a friend.

Besides keeping fit, focus on what you're eating in the morning. Recently, my roommate concocted this delicious GREEN breakfast smoothie. It's filled with protein and nutrients and has a lot more flavor than a bowl of cereal. Takes only a few minutes to make and you can take it with you on your way to work or school. 

Peanut Butter Banana Green Smoothie
makes 1 smoothie
1 banana
1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
3 cups of baby spinach
3-4 ice cubes (optional)

 Put the banana and peanut butter into the blender and puree until smooth.  Then, 1 cup at a time, add the spinach, each time blending until smooth.  Scrape down the sides of the blender with a spatula between blends and add a tablespoon or so of water if you need to get the spinach blending.  Then add the ice cubes, if using, and pulse until smooth.

**If you want to mix it up a bit day to day, add varieties of fruit or vegetables. Add whey protein!**

With a breakfast smoothie and simple daily workout, you'll be bikini ready in no time!

Summer's Here!

School's out, Summer's here!! The weather is perfect and the stresses from school are over :) Well... until summer classes begin in two weeks. So until then, let's keep busy and enjoy a few local festivities!

  • Taco Tuesday -- every Tuesday at La Cantina on Wall Street 2PM-2AM. $3 Margs, Tacos and $4 loaded coronas.
  • Cinco de Mayo -- Block party at Library or the block party on Wall Street. All day :)
  • Bahama Breeze-- Happy Hour Monday through Friday 4-6PM and Sunday 10PM- close. $5 appetizers and $4 girly, delicious drinks. 
  • Waterford Farmers Market 9am-2pm
  • ABC Fine Wine and Spirits Wine Tasting on E. Colonial-- May 9th 6-8pm
  • Mother's Day May 13th!
  • Food Truck Bizaar in Waterford Plaza May 17th 5-8pm
  • Fashion Charity Event at The Paramount "A Cause for Fashion" on Lake Eola 7pm May 19th
